Today in history we were paired up with partners based on a word and it's definition based on the declaration of independence. The word I had was sacred honor which was in the declaration as something to pledge along with life and fortunes. After being paired into groups we read over the declaration of independence and annalyzed it's meaning. This document was made in order to dissolve the connection between the colonists and British once and for all.
Dropped English today
The need for the declaration of independence was very similar to the need to murder Caesar in Julius Caesar. The colonists needed to create the declaration because if they did not, they would be under unfair rule and would not benefit from it. If they did not stab Caesar, Caesars power could become corrupt because it was all in his hands or he could have used it wrongly. In both situations, if they did not rebel, then they would be under an unfavorable rule.
