Today in History we talked about the midnight ride of paul rever. We started class out by examining the work "Midnight Ride of Paul Rever" by Grant Wood which was a picture expressing this event in history. This picture showed a man riding a horse by a massive church following a long road through a village of houses with all of their lights on into the unknown. In this picture, we learned that this man was Paul Revere riding through the town calling out "The regulars are coming!" to alert the people that the British were approaching.
Reading workshop
The way Paul Revere shouted "The regulars are coming!" connects to the book I am currently reading. Paul Revere shouts this because he doesn't want the British to know he is announcing them so he used a little bit of a codename. In my book, Harry Potter 6, Harry and his friends are required to call the Hippogrith Buckbeak by the name of Witherwings in order to protect him from being executed by the ministry. These cases are similar because in both situations they need to desguise the name of something in order for protection.
